Preparing chocolate chip cupcakes from a mix

Room 9teen had a wonderful day cooking. This week we prepared packaged cupcakes. We reviewed kitchen safety as well as learned about proper dishwashing techniques. The following list is some of the helpful hints we discussed during the baking process.
  • Wash you hands
  • Read complete recipe on package.
  • Assemble ingredients.
  • When adding egg, be sure to crack open in separate bowl to avoid getting shells in mix.
  • Fill muffin tin 3/4 full with mix.
  • Fill any extra muffin tins with water when baking to avoid tipping and burning and to add extra moisture to recipe.
  • Never eat any uncooked mixture, as it contains raw egg and could cause food poisoning.
  • Wash you hands always. You can never wash them too much when cooking.
