Room 9teen cooks with Chef Phelan

Ms. Legault welcomed Chef Phelan into the kitchen on Friday June 19 to make an exciting new entree and a delicious new dessert. Room 9teen was amazed with simplicity of the chicken quesadillas and the chocolate mousse. Many students went home and shared their new recipes with their families. Here's a reminder of what caused all the excitement:

What's happening lately in Room 9Teen?

With only a month or so left of school, Ms Legault's class is busy wrapping up and reviewing. The grade 6's have been preparing hard for their EQAO, which begins next week. The grade 8's are preparing a resume that they can use to gain summer employment. Trent and Ms. Legault worked hard to box all the clothing from James' clothing drive for its' destination in Afghanistan. This month's theme is initiative. Students are helping to prepare a slideshow which focuses on the Talent show and the wonderful initiative many students had demonstrated. Conner has demonstrated initiative by attending Ms. Phelan's language classes. Brandon P. has demonstrated initiative by building a new home for Bow-bo. Everyone is participating in reading assessments, which we hope to complete next week in anticipation for our final report cards. Thanks to all the students who completed their work on bullying. Congratulations to Jake for all his fine work. Lots of end of the year trips have been planned, and we are all looking forward to lots of fun and exciting events once we get through all the necessary work.

The Best Traditional Banana Bread Recipe
For the purists. A traditional banana loaf recipe with a touch of spice. Feel free to toss a cup of nuts in this recipe. No chocolate for this one as the spice will compete too much.Ingredients
